There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

We’ve all been there, ready to start that YouTube channel, the new business idea, go back to school, join a missions trip, or even begin a new relationship. But for some reason we often find ourselves paralyzed and powerless to take the first step. We may find ourselves waiting for the perfect time, or asking God to change other people to fit our plans. Yet, as our all-knowing Lord, God sees things we don’t. What if the setbacks we experience are designed to change us instead? God’s word tells us “not one sparrow” falls to the ground without Him knowing. Then how much more does he care for us? Whether single or married, in a season of blessings or troubling-times, we all have the choice to invite the Holy Spirit to give us the courage and humility needed to grow with life’s changes. Sometimes, we can't see anything past the changes because we don't know what to expect. However, know this; as God’s children, we are His valuable possessions who he loves. We can trust Him as He calls us to step over fear, in truth, building again and again as life goes on.
Even the most minute changes affect us in ways greater than what we can understand.
Even in a season of singleness or marriage, harboring fear prevents us from living the joyous and love-filled lives God intends for us. Fear is a chameleon; it can mask itself as concern, or wisdom, or overthinking, but its faulty foundation remains the same. When we take initiative to cast out fear, we are no longer working alone but putting our faith in God who is guiding our walk and improving every aspect of our lives.
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18
Choosing the truth will bring many revelations to your life. The truth may not always be comfortable, but it’s a path we’re called to walk. Choosing the truth is not easy, but don’t waver. Instead of having a double mind, keep a singular focus on Jesus who’s always with you. He is the way, the truth and the life. When we are honest in prayer and surrendering our doubts and questions, we invite Him to work in our lives. Only then can we fully experience joy and freedom.
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.” James 1:6-8
Although seasons change, in every season we have the opportunity to build again. Life by definition always builds and grows. And even though life isn’t stagnant, we have a hope in an unshifting God who cares so deeply for us, he uses all things for our good. So we know the things that are meant to break us, actually bring us together when we put our faith and trust in Jesus. Relationships aren’t easy; in fact even when things are seemingly going well, we have to continue working so that we don’t start to drift. Yet ultimately, God is always at the helm steering the rudder calling us to His eternal Kingdom.
Take some time this week to think and pray about what area in life or relationship(s) you can build again after a season of change. As you ask God for help and guidance, we encourage you explore our available resources at https://www.vouschurch.com/care
