You are God’s dream. Unique, special, beautiful, chosen. You are his most beautiful creation; created in his image, created for a purpose.
Have you ever had a dream and felt so proud, satisfied and happy once it came true? That’s the way God feels about you. Just like an artist finishing it’s masterpiece, God rejoices over your life, who you are and who you are becoming.
I could sit here forever and try to explain, unpack, and understand the enormity of the fact that “you are God's dream”. In fact after I say it out loud, I suddenly find myself having to take a deep breath.
I am God's dream. I can't get over this complex yet simple thought.
The bible says that God knitted me and you in our mothers wombs (Psalm 139:13) and he has counted every hair on our head, and numbered every day of our lives. (Luke 12:7, Job 14:5). He saw us even before we were born, and every moment of our lives was laid out before a single moment had passed.
Let that sink in for a moment, take a moment to think about the enormity behind the fact that before you came to be, your creator put time and workmanship into you. You are one of his most precious masterpieces.
He planned to create you! He dreamt about you! It's unbelievable the amount of freedom that lies in this very concept. Ever felt unwanted? Unappreciated? Rejected? Unaccepted? These are all lies!
We are God's dream and therefore, we could never be unwanted. We are never under appreciated, we will never be rejected or not accepted. No rather, we are God's living, breathing, walking dream and there’s life altering freedom in that.
We can now walk confidently knowing who we are in God. Not only are we his dream but we were also created in his image. He created us to be like him, and when we surrender to Christ we receive the Holy Spirit, so he now lives in us!
Being God’s dream is filled with layers of beauty, many of which I can't quite express or encapsulate in just one blog post. But we can all take comfort in the fact that we are God’s dream, we were planned and woven in our mothers womb, we can never be forgotten, we are never for even a moment unwanted, we were created in his image and we have in us the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead living in us.
No matter what you do or don’t do, or what other people think about you. There is one truth that goes beyond all of that:
You are God's dream come true.
