Pray First
God’s vision for your life is full of purpose and hope. It’s meant to give you a future that aligns with his plans and that will be a blessing to others as well.

“Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, It will not tarry.’  - Habakkuk 2:2-3

As we enter in a new year, we must be intentional in walking with purpose. What is God’s vision for your life? What is he calling you to do in this new season? What dreams does he want you to pursue? What matters of your heart does he want to work on healing? In what areas does he want you to grow?

Write the conclusion before the story

When we know what the end looks like, it’s easier to work towards that goal as we move through time. Having a vision gives us direction. What is the vision God is cultivating in you? Just like the scripture says, “Write the vision and make it plain.” The best way to put this into practice is to spend time with Jesus. Ask him what his vision is for your life this year. Write it down and keep it in a place where you can constantly be reminded throughout the year.

Ask God today to reveal to you the vision he has for every area of your life. Ask what he not only wants to work in you, but also what he wants to work through you for the benefit of others. Pray for wisdom to meet those goals. And pray for the strength and endurance throughout the year to overcome every obstacle that might come your way and make you want to give up or forfeit his promises.

Ultimately, God’s vision for your life is that you become more like him as he has revealed himself to you in Christ, and being like him that you come to behold him face to face in perfect communion. In other words, God’s vision for you is that you have his vision guiding your life.
