In order to bring Christ’s Salvation in Miami, we must be willing to help others, pray for others and seek peace everywhere we go.
“And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.” - Jeremiah 29:7
Have you ever watched the show CSI Miami? It’s pretty much about a team of forensic investigators who use different scientific methods and police work to solve crimes. Maybe you are not a forensic or a cop and are not really into crime solving, but you are called to help bring the gospel to the city God placed you in. And as the bible verse says, to pray for it and seek its peace.
When was the last time that you went out to carry the gospel into the city? It may be from speaking about Jesus to others to signing up for a charity event (like the ones we do every month with I Love My City). Or it could also be just by being intentional in bringing peace wherever you are at, your workplace, your home or even driving in traffic. We all can play our role in working to bring God’s kingdom into Miami, however small or big our actions can be.
Take some time to say this prayer:
Jesus, on this day I want to pray for awareness in my heart about what’s going on around me in Miami. I pray that you show me the ways that I can help bring your gospel through my words and actions to others. I pray that you cover this city with your love and peace and help us be a light to the rest of the country. In your name I pray, amen.
