Hey Crew Leaders!
What an amazing season it has been in Crews. Consistently we’ve seen an average about 2500 people gathering in crews this season, over 3000 unique individuals joining in and experiencing community the past couple of months. Thank you for sacrificing time out of your days to prepare for crew, to pour into and grow new leaders, and help people in their journey of coming closer to God. It’s not easy what you do, but you all make a great difference in being a light in a dark world.
I was thinking about this past season over the past couple of days. All the prep, all the time sacrificed, the pouring into people, it can feel like a lot. You may be feeling tired coming into this last week. I get it.
It says in Isaiah 40:29-31,
“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, young men will fall into exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
You might be walking into this week feeling tired. You might feel the pressures of the season. You might even be feeling like the busyness of life this season has made it tough to lead a crew. Just lean on God when you feel tired or like quitting. Don’t quit your calling. You’re meant to be here. I think of an athlete in the final minutes of a long game. Exhaustion hits and the athlete feels like they can’t continue, the coach is right there to support and energize the athlete, remind them of their purpose and the bigger plan. God is here to give you strength when you feel like you can’t go any more and remind you of the plan and your purpose in that plan: to create an atmosphere where people who are far from God can come close to Him. To foster a community where people can feel real love and belonging. To create a place where people can walk into their purpose and calling.
I’m proud of what all of you have accomplished this season. Let’s give this last week all we have.
Love y’all!
