Isaiah 55: 8-9 NIV
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Where we live, how we speak, and how we think are the results of what we know. Our knowledge informs our choices, and our choices direct our lives. For example, the knowledge of nice weather in South Florida is currently causing hundreds of thousands of people to move to Miami! Actually, we’re all seeking knowledge, wisdom, and truth to make our reality better. But regardless of all that we have the potential to know, we obviously cannot know everything. Our minds and thoughts have limits. However, God is limitless. This limitless, loving God has given us his son Jesus Christ, his word, and his Holy Spirit to renew and stretch our minds beyond what we would even think or imagine. After establishing belief in Christ, studying God’s word and leaning not on our own understanding is how we trust God to reveal his mindset to us. Remember, God’s word is a mechanism for our daily spiritual check-up, because he is the all-knowing God, the God of all wisdom, and God of all truth. The Book of Isaiah reveals that we fall short on our own, but acknowledging God for who He is, is the beginning of our faith and trust in His goodness.
His thoughts are not our thoughts, His thoughts are higher
Before you were even born, while you were still being knit together in your mother’s womb, all the days of your life were written by God. Our God is all-knowing. There is nothing hidden from God, yet he is compassionate, kind and full of grace for his people.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Psalm 139:17
God's wisdom can be found in the creation of all things. He created a perfect plan to save his people through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. And we realize His wisdom in the peace we feel that surpasses all understanding. We can confidently surrender our lives to Him because His ways will always be better than our ways.
To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his. Job 12:13
We often feel the pressure to have all the answers and get everything right all the time. This pressure can cause many of us to come across as “know-it-alls,” because we’d rather hide that we’re actually uncertain and unsure. Or, when we catch that we’re missing the mark and falling short, we may try to convince ourselves and others that we’re simply “living our truth,” rather than own-up to our shortcomings. The only relief from these pressures of perfectionism is to admit our human limitations, and choose to rely on God’s perfect knowledge and wisdom. When we seek God’s mindset, God does the work to transform us into the beautiful creations he intends us to be. God has promised to guide us every step of the way as we become confident, healthy, and secure. The more we focus our attention on God’s all-knowing character and meditate on God’s wisdom, the better we can understand ourselves and follow where God leads.
Take the next seven days and start your day by rereading Isaiah 55:8-9. Ask for God’s wisdom in specific areas you know you could use his truth and direction. Spend the rest of the day open and anticipating receiving direction from the Lord in all the areas you asked for council in.
